Stretching is extremely important before exercising. It can help prevent injury, increase range of motion, and much more. Specifically, there are certain stretches you should do before running on the treadmill. After warming up, start with a simple calf stretch. Place your toe against a wall, your heel on the ground, and straighten your leg. Push forward using your back leg, and hold for 30-45 seconds before switching legs.
